Coming to Rythmia is a big deal and shouldn't be taken lightly. A lot of realizations and breakthroughs are possible with plant medicine. Preparing for your visit will allow you to have the best experience possible. It's essential to prepare the mind and look at your thoughts. Are they positive? Are they mindful of the experience you are about to embark on?
Set Your Mind with Intentions
90% of guests that come to Rythmia are embarking on their first experience with plant medicine. Everyone is nervous, and that's healthy and normal. People are worried they will be inexperienced compared to other guests. The Rythmia team is trained to cater to individuals seeking plant medicine for the first time, along with guests who are veterans of plant medicine. Setting the intentions and goals you want to realize through your experience at Rythmia with plant medicine is essential.
For example, if you have a lot of traumas you are hanging onto, you may want to set an intention to close the door on that trauma. Or you may be transitioning between relationships and career paths and need to find purpose in your life. Set an intention to connect with yourself, get clarity, and move forward positively. The way you can prepare your mind is to do things emotionally and cognitively that are positive and get you into a mindset that is conducive to plant medicine. We do this by setting intentions.
Find your purpose for coming here. It could be as simple as wanting to connect with your soul, and that's good enough. That will open so many doors for a positive future.
Prepare Your Physical Body
We will email you the “dieta” to help you prepare your physical body for plant medicine, which focuses on eating vegetarian-based foods with healthy proteins. It's a way to eat that aligns your body with plant medicine and supports the physical shift that occurs when you do plant medicine (along with spiritual and emotional shifts).
The physical body goes through a profound change. Your body needs to be as healthy as possible to get the most out of the shift. Avoid drugs and alcohol, and stay fit with diet and exercise. If you prepare sufficiently for plant medicine, you’ll get the most out of the experience. Taking care of your body allows the plant medicine to work better, for a more pleasant experience that helps you understand who you are and what you want to achieve.
Whether you have three months or one day to prepare (starting 30 days in advance is recommended), try to be as mindful as possible. Every time you eat, keep in mind that you will be doing plant medicine in the future, and you want to put into your body things that are healthy and conducive to getting the best experience possible with plant medicine. The dieta is not just a physical plan but also a spiritual and mindful practice that helps you stay in line with all the goals you set for yourself while you're at Rythmia.
Prepare Spiritually and Emotionally
Set aside all your worries about jobs, relationships, and all the anxieties that have built up over time. Set positive affirmations by telling yourself you will get clarity and find peace around all these things and that your experience at Rythmia will be unique and transformational. Plant medicine is going to show you how to move forward in life. Anything you can do before you get to the center that allows you to be in tune with your spirit will allow you to connect to yourself more deeply when you arrive. Surfing, exercise, and meditation are the ways I tap into my spiritual and emotional core—some people like attending church, reading related books, and practicing yoga.
Don't Over Stress with Preparation
A lot of people that come here are not in a physically healthy state. People who come here often come with physical ailments such as back pain or old injuries and have been on medications for a long time. That's okay. You do what you can to prepare. The medicine is brilliant. It knows what you're doing and what your intentions are. It knows when you're trying your best. Don't stress. Do what you can and do your best.
Some people book a trip to Rythmia at the last minute and don't have the time to prepare as profoundly as possible. As long as there are no contraindications and you are cleared by our medical team, that's okay, too. Life is busy, and you do what you can. For example, if you need more time to do the dieta before you arrive, don't worry; Rythmia's on-site kitchen is fully dedicated to the dieta and will help you achieve a healthy balance in the body to facilitate your optimal plant medicine experience.
Prepare For Ultimate Clarity
When you get here, you will tap into ultimate clarity. You’ll have four sessions of plant medicine in one week. It's enough to get what you need from your experience with us.
Preparing for plant medicine is an honor because it shows you that you are serious and want to get everything you can out of the experience to be happy, peaceful, and prosperous. Don't put too much stress on yourself, but be aware of everything you can do to prepare because when you are more prepared, you are calmer and more open to the experience, and things will happen in a way that's more helpful to you.
I see many guests with different preparation levels, like guests who've been working for months or over a year following a healthy diet and spiritual practices, and they get here and are in the zone. Other guests, for whatever reasons, have yet to be able to prepare; there may be a struggle at first, but they can quickly get into the space they need to be successful.
Everything is a personal and unique experience. In the West, we often look outside ourselves to find what we need. You are an individual. Let's create an environment to support your individual needs. Prepare in a way that's reasonable for you. Expect to love your experience here. I am amazed every week by the people who come here and what they go through and realize. It's incredible, and it's a miracle. We are changing the world one person at a time, one soul at a time. Getting tuned into yourself, knowing who you are, connecting with others, and feeling empathy for others—that's how the world changes—not by a political or economic strategy. Changing who you are as an individual, evolving your soul, and connecting with others authentically and meaningfully is the strategy. That's how it happens. That's how we make meaningful change.
